More reviewsMike Wilps4 years agoZero stars! No call, email or good old fashioned home mail telling me I owed... Drum roll please..... $90 wowee! So I now see I have a collections on my credit for $90 like just give me a call and I'll pay it. Can't pay something you don't know you owe!Diane Schenker4 years agoTerrible customer service, they have a huge problem with their billing practices. Got a threatening letter from Cornerstone Collections agency for a bill dated 9/14, that I paid on 9/18, and which was not even due until 10/5. No one at the "billing" company takes responsibility, but confirmed I paid on time. AK Radiology can't answer their own phones in a timely manner so after wasting time on hold, getting cut off, getting a wrong callback number via voicemail, I can see why people give up and just let them continue bad business practices.Katy Brautigam4 years agoI did not choose to use AK radiology, but they were used during my emergency elbow surgery. Despite paying all my bills on time, BEFORE they were due, they forwarded my account to a collections agency. Interestingly I called AK radiology after I heard from the debt collection agency and gave them the dates of payments, amounts paid, last four numbers of the credit card used, and authorization code…and what do you know, they miraculously found record of my payment, they just hadn’t applied it to my account! I was livid because I was concerned this would impact my credit score.
UPDATE: AK Radiology called me today (one day after I left this review) to explain the error and apologize. I really appreciate them reaching out.Camille Ezell4 years agoAll of my procedures with them have been great, but their billing practices need to be improved.
I have used their services twice and, in both instances, was sent to collections. In the first instance I paid online and got an emailed confirmation and receipt. I was surprised when a collections agency called my mother and demanded my information. It hadn’t actually gone through and I did not receive another bill.
In the second instance my daughter had scans in March 2022. We received a bill in April and then again in May. I called in May to ask if we can have more time to pay. Our insurance information was changing with a change of employment. They said it wouldn’t be a problem. I was sent to collections on July 14th, exactly 4 months after services rendered. I called, not knowing that I was already in collections, and paid July 22nd. When I called to discuss I was told they had no record of me contacting them regarding my bill. This was frustrating.
I understand that you want to be paid. However, having more grace in your payment window before a collections agency is contacted would make things easier on your customers. Even an increase to a 6 month billing window would help. Those using your services could be going through a very stressful medical emergency. Getting imaging done while pregnant and then on my infant were stressful enough situations. This is the only instance I have ever been sent to collections. It takes 7 years to get that off of your credit. This should not be done so casually.Nathaniel Bannish4 years agoYup, all the other reviewers are correct - they will not bill you and instead go straight to collections. Dunno how I'm supposed to know I have a bill to pay if you never send me a bill. Maybe take a look at your reviews and fix your system?Mikos D4 years agoSaid that we owed money. We asked them to prove that we actually use their services and instead they just send the account to collections.
This place is probably a scam organization I doubt they even have real medical professionals there but I of course have no personal knowledge because I've never gone there.Lynette tracy4 years agoAlaska Radiology Assoc., needs to check their billing system, it "shows statements sent" but NO statement was ever sent until someone manually printed and mailed. Over 2 years of reviews stating the same exact thing, you should be very embarrassed.Roz Kirkelie-Kim4 years agoIf I could give them negative stars I would. Same story as all the other reviews. I never received a bill from them, they had my primary and secondary insurance on file but neither insurance company had records of Alaska Radiology billing them, and then they sent my account to Cornerstone before I received a notice, a phone calls, or any kind of communication whatsoever. I would recommend avoiding this place at all costs!Lura Slone4 years agoQuestionable billing. I paid 100% of my balance and it just showed up again with a collection agency.Brenda Friend4 years agoCUSTOMERS BEWARE! They send you to Cornerstone collections long before you get the bill and the insurance has processed. They even had our credit card on file. I'LL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN.Kim Smith4 years agoTerrible customer service. I owed them money after my insurance paid, but they did not mail me any bills ever! Nor did they have the courtesy to call and let me know I had bills past due. What happened to customer service? Are they that important that they can't pick up the phone and talk with a customer directly? When I called them, they said they mailed the bills four different times. I did not receive any of them. Hmmm, I don't think the post office could lose all of them But, they did send me to collections for lack of payment. I will be letting everyone I know to not use Alaska Radiology Associates.Amber Lee5 years agoGot sent to collections for a mistake they made and the girl in the billing department was like: sorry, there's really nothing we can do. Choose someplace else.Lila Tamang5 years agoThese guys are absolutely horrible. Terrible customer service too. I provided them with my insurance and instead of billing the insurance, they claimed to have mailed me my bill which I never received. I finally get a notice from the collection agency saying the bill was referred to them. I called them to find out what was going on and they said they didn’t have my insurance info on file. The lady on the phone was very rude. I gave them my insurance info AGAIN and asked her how long it will be before this bill goes away. She straight up said “I don’t know”. I asked her if she would call me when this issue is cleared and she said “we don’t call anyone”. Absolutely horrible serviceSuzann Speckman5 years agoThe people in the billing department at Alaska Radiology are apparently incapable of using the correct address for billing. The entire Providence hospital system knows our address, but these people just sent my account to a collection agency instead of putting some effort into checking the address. I'm not interested in getting medical treatment from people who care so little about the people they are purporting to help.Charmaine Diagro5 years agoI guess everyone here is having trouble with billing! I was just called for collections for a 51 dollar bill from over a year ago I have never received an original bill! What is going on? If I had a choice on where to go I would go somewhere else! This is crazy! Collections for a 51 dollar bill I could have gladly paid if I was sent an original bill!Maegan Mascagno6 years agoUPDATE: Ward Hinger, CAO, called me after reviewing this review. His customer service is what is changing this review. We discussed what happened with my account and he was able to help me resolve everything. Some of the best customer service I've received in a long time.
A 0 star rating would be more appropriate if possible. I received one bill in the mail from them but forgot about it. Flash forward to October, I received a notice that my account was sent to collections with no other attempts to contact me for payment. I called the billing department and got a notice that they were having technical difficulties and couldn’t be reached. I tried for over a week and got the same message, then called the main number. I was told my message would be passed along to the billing manager and I would get a call back ASAP. It’s been over 3 weeks and no one has ever responded. I just spoke with Olivia and she was incredibly rude and dismissive. She claimed someone called me and left a message but I can guarantee that information is not correct. Overall, I’m highly dissatisfied and hope to never work with the company again.Kaylie Holland6 years agoWould give a 0 if I could. Like everyone else I had problems with billing. Just received a bill for a service from 2 years ago. Had to press the person about what the bill was for seeing as I already paid the hospital facitility bill associated with that date so I assumed that was all that was due and whether or not it went through insurance. Turns out they never sent me a bill and the first bill is the notice saying they audited my account and I owe 400. Not very understanding and gave me excuses about how their old billing company wasn't doing their job. That isn't the customers fault and they should have noticed that they weren't being paid instead of coming after people 2 or 3 years later. The service I received during the procedure was great but the billing problems and poor customer service ensures I won't return.Jolene Rallo6 years agoAs others have stated, if I could give them 0 stars, I would. No bill has ever been sent to me yet I get a notice from collections like I’m the one at fault here. Had you sent me a bill like any other business wanting to be paid for their services, I would have paid it. The fact that this affects my credit score over something that I couldn’t have any control over is just frustrating and disappointing. I don’t care what leadership problems or billing problems your company is experiencing, that has nothing to do with me, the consumer. Fix your issues and stop letting it directly affect others. Oh and I got to pay interest on the bill because I was out of state and in quarantine and didn’t catch the mail from the post office for a couple of weeks. Thanks AK Radiology for just the worst model of a business I think I have ever witnessed. If I ever have a choice to not use your services, I will choose that every time.
Katie Brennan6 years agoIf I could, I would rate 0. Got a collections notice from a bill I never received. Horrible business model.Nataliya Udovyk6 years agoUpdating my previous review/ comment: I was contacted by provider staff directly. They worked with me and professionally apologized for the previously described handling of the situation. We have worked out an agreeable plan. I am willing to give the provider a second chance in hopes that everything will go smoother this time.
Comment from July: Agree with all previous comments on billing from Alaska Radiology Associates - would it give it a 0. Got collection agency letters a year and a half after the treatment, have not received an original bill. After paying the bill, their new billing provider sent balance due statement from a 2 year old visit with 0 explanations on charges. When contacting new billing provider office, customer service rep stated it will take several weeks to review my file, as the file and the billing transfer was all" jumbled" on my account. She advised, I should call my insurance about the statement, when I called insurance they were not able to locate the claim for the date nor provider of service. Called ARA billing back got treated as someone who simply refuses to pay on due bills and cut off at "we will print and send you paperwork, so you can figure it out." I am definitely not returning to this provider. Heading out to Regional for any ER or Radiology treatments in the future.Kate Schnese6 years agoThe same thing happened to me as many others. No bill sent. Sent to collections for the first time in my life on a $49 bill.Arlene Chico6 years agoBilling Department
Just like mostly everyone in here, I learned about my unpaid bill from a collection agency (reported in my credit score). Sad and stressful!!!
If not for the help of Mia and Nate who both showed patience and professionalism,...(I rate them both a 5/5 for customer service!)...I would also give a 0, well a 1.
Kelly was rude and impatient. She's a 0 for customer service!Cristi Simpson7 years agoEveryone I interacted with was positive and helpful. It made both of my experiences easier and less stressful. My appointments were easy to make and very little wait time. Plus, my doctor recieved results the same day.
I can't comment on any billing issues since I paid same day of service. The cost was very reasonable as well. Overall I had a very good experience with them and would recommend their services to anyone.
Andrew Skellen7 years agoCan't give them a 0 but I would love to. Literally the worst place ever. The billing from here is horrible as you've probably already read. Never received any form of mail about my bill until the "Final Notice" 2 days before it was due. To make it even better, nobody ever picks up their phone at this place. STEER CLEAR, these are the worst type of people.
Sabrina Robbins7 years agoIf I could rate zero I would. They sent a collection notice without any prior bills. Never answer. And worst you call between “ office hours” and you get an automated “ our office is closed, please call between office hours” I got a hold of a person once and they said that “ their accounts are down so they can’t access my bill and to call back”
Most frustrating experience. And still not resolved.
Desislava Gotcova8 years agoI assume 1 star means bad service, I am more likely to give them 0! Had an emergency visit back 2016, found out that my bill is send straight to the collections. I wonder how that even happened since I never got the bill myself. Very poor skills at the billing department.....
